The property A & B RV Park sits on once contained the engine house for the Silverton Gladstone & Northerly Railroad.  The railroad was built in 1899 for the Gold King Mine and was used for hauling ore. It was leased and later purchased by Otto Mears, known as the "Pathfinder of the San Juans."  Otto Mears was well-known for building roads & railroad lines.

In the late 1950's, the town of Eureka was abandoned and the house and structures were given to anyone who wanted them.  The office/apartment building is one of those houses.  It was rolled into town on logs and put on vacant lots that now house the Post Office. It was placed in its present position in 1962.
